I haven't forgotten!

I haven't forgotten about my patterns...I wanted to get another pattern up before the day is over!

Back from New York City!

We're back from the Big Apple! What a fun trip! I learned soo much while we were there. It was a good experience to attend both Surtex and The Stationery Show and be around so many talented people! I learned a lot from walking the floor...it was slightly overwhelming the first day we attended! We went to the shows three different days and still didn't see all the booths!

Mom and I got a little bit of sight-seeing in while we were there! One of the mornings that we were there, we went to the taping of Good Morning America, which was a lot of fun! We were able to meet Diane Sawyer, Robin Roberts, Chris Cuomo and Sam Champion...fun times!

We didn't go anywhere without our subway maps...we would have been lost without them!

Portfolio!

We made it to New York! We had quite a crazy shuttle ride from the airport to our hotel, but we've made it in one piece!

I wanted to get some of my work up before the weekend is over! This is really just a temporary solution until I get a more permanent online portfolio solution!!

The Flour Mill, San Francisco logo and business papers.

Typeface design: "Quirky handwriting."

Western Heritage Arts Center: Some products that could be sold at WHAC.

Pattern A Day!

I've been inspired by one of my professors from school, Scott Franson, to do a "pattern-a-day" on my blog! Feel free to leave feedback, give suggestions, etc.

We leave for New York in three days...I can't wait to go!

Beth's Recital Announcement

Here's an announcement I recently did for a friend's graduate recital. I think it turned out nice for a quick job!

The Blogging Begins!

I got my diploma in the mail yesterday...it's official! I'm graduated! I guess it'd be good to start with my BFA project...I had a lot of fun doing it! I designed a pattern that I applied to kitchen linens and dishes. The name of the fictional company was "LinnieBell," after my great-grandmother. The picture below is from the opening night of the BFA show.

I had a table with some settings all put together, an old kitchen cabinet displaying some of the dishes and linens and a dress form with the apron.

Some more closeups of the dishes...

I suppose that will be all for the my first post...more to follow tomorrow!
