First Snow

I've had a to-do list that's about a bazillion miles long, but every time I sit down complete a task, something distracts me (surprise!) and I end up never crossing anything off. Tonight I was totally distracted by the snow! My roomie, Katie, and I wrapped up in blankets and went for a walk to commemorate the first snowfall, and it ended up in a snowball fight...I'm sure the first of many for the season!

Almost here...

Fall, that is.
Spent the afternoon over at the sister's house with Claire and Caleb...I just can't get enough of those kids! Claire and I read her current favorite book (Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?) on the grass under this most amazing tree! It's just a little tree, and I've always thought it didn't stand much of a chance, but when you get down and look up through it's branches and leaves, it's pretty amazing! The one branch fades from green to bright red. So beautiful!

This weekend to do list includes going on a drive up Provo Canyon. Must. Do.

Cotton Ball Snow

Doesn't it look like the tree is growing cotton balls? :)

We haven't gotten much snow this winter, so I'm enjoying the little that we're getting right now! Back East got all the snow this winter, and I have to admit I've kind of missed it this year.

Snowy Night

I went to bed last night thinking that most of the snow was over, but woke up to another 7-8" of thick, heavy, wet snow (not to mention the 5 or so inches that fell during the day)! So crazy. Broken branches were strewn all over the road on the way to work this morning...it was kind of an obstacle course to get out of my parking lot! I kind of secretly like extreme weather. Everything looked so beautiful draped in fresh snow! The day after a storm is always serene--the sky seems extra blue and everything kind of seems to move in slow motion.

April 15

27th day of Spring.

Current view of the parking lot at work. 2" of snow. Good thing I still have my snow brush/ice scraper in my car!

Spring, where are you?

More snow in Provo tonight...is it spring yet?? I'm under a pile of blankets trying to stay warm and wishing I had one of these right now!

Two sad stories. Story number one happened in Maryville, Illinois...right next to Edwardsville. The pastor who passed away actually lived in Edwardsville. So sad. I'm not quite sure why this story has occupied my thoughts all day, but it has. There's not much I can do from Provo, but I can pray for those who have been affected by this tragedy, so that's what I'll do.

Dad did a good job telling sad story number two. Obama, what are you thinking??

It's stories like these that make the snow not such a bad thing. It's all about perspective, right? Here's to a happier tomorrow!
