DIY: Mousepad Edition

Yay for pretty mousepads! My mouse was struggling, and until today, I got by with putting some paper under it and it would kind of work. I broke down this afternoon and paid the $2.50 for a mousepad. (I probably could've found a free one somewhere!) The blue wasn't working for me, so I got out some fabric and fusible interfacing and went to work. Five minutes later, I had a pretty new mousepad!

Holy Sh*t!!!!!!!!!!!!!! K, I would never say that word (only in Tuscany when your Mom is there would I say that word) but I seriously tried making over my mousepad about TWO days ago. Although, yours turned out much better. What did you use to adhere the fabric?

Easy steps: Adhere fusible interfacing to fabric (to give the fabric a little more stability). Spray spray-mount glue to mouse pad and adhere fabric/interfacing to mousepad. (The best spray-mount glue is 3M Super 77...it's expesive, but it's the best and I use it all the time and it lasts for quite a while! It's worth having around...I used it all the time in school and still find myself using it often...I used it on the bulletin board!) Cut excess fabric/interfacing off. That's it! We'll see how it holds up...

Here's another way to do it, but it looks a little more time consuming and a little more technical than this way:

I too love the mousepad! Hey, if I am seeing correctly it looks as though you have the BYU planner in red in the background...this is why we are friends! I have the exact one. Last year I had Chase buy it for me while he was on campus and he bought me boring gray. So this year I made sure to buy it myself. I love the red!! Disregard this statement if that is not a planner that can be bought at BYU :)
